waffle wedding styled shoot

The ground was covered with snow, a snow day at best, and you could find me in flannel pajamas, tucked behind my computer with a huge smile across my face. Kelsy from The McCartney’s Photography was on the other end of the computer and I can only imagine how silly we both looked as we tossed around ideas for our brunch styled shoot. Brunch? Why, Yes! And even better… WAFFLES! Hosting a late morning ceremony, followed by a light and delicious brunch, leaves plenty time for an afternoon of socializing, dancing, or whatever your heart desires. A brunch inspired wedding is a fresh change in tradition that would surely bring a smile to the bride and groom’s faces too.

My dear friends and uber talented photographers, Kelsy & Butch from The McCartney’s Photography , met my husband and I in a glowing field in Oshkosh, Wisconsin for an afternoon of excitement, smiles, and laughter as our darling waffle wedding came to life! They captured every tasteful detail with film and I am jumping out of my seat excited to share their stunning images with you!

A sweet color palette of apricot, coral, and gold are scattered about. The picnic style sweetheart table atop a blanket and oversized pillows created a cozy space for the Mr. & Mrs. to snuggle up while soaking in the company of close friends and family.

Randy from Evolutions In Design created the GORGEOUS flowing floral centerpiece, bouquet and boutonniere. His creations truly make a statement and the size of the bouquet blew me away! Not one flower went unnoticed. LOVE his work!

All the darling paper elements (menu, escort cards, wish box and invitation calligraphy) were created by Taylor Rae Calligraphy. We wanted to keep all the paper elements simple and really highlight Taylor Rae’s beautiful gift as it speaks volumes. I love how the white ink against the coral paper.

Gold polka dots everywhere! They dressed the invitation, cake, fireplace mantel, and linen napkins. I handcrafted the custom linen napkins, banners, and painted the gold details that were scattered about. Even the invitation envelope was lined and stuffed with gold polka dot confetti! (A shout out to my husband for designing the invitation!)

Raise your hand if you love the standing fireplace mantel. Mine is raised! I was super excited to incorporate this beauty into our shoot. (This mantel and other lovely pieces from this shoot are available to my clients.) Guests can place wishes in the wooden recipe box to be displayed in a kitchen for a lifetime. How fun would it be to pull out a wish or two every now and again with your sweetie?

Casual attire with fun and poppy accessories were selected for the Bride and Groom. The Bride wore a handcrafted bird cage veil and hair clip by Jaxie. If you’re looking for custom bridal accessories, be sure to check her out!

Waffles, fresh peaches, scones, yogurt parfaits, and organic hard boiled eggs are a few items on the delicious menu! Simple, light and satisfying. And lets be honest, they look adorable too!

A brunch inspired wedding is possible when you combine the appropriate details – love, maple syrup waffles, laughter and champagne toasts - that truly resemble the couple. I hope  this casual and sweet waffle wedding brings you some inspiration. Do what inspires you and let the details tell your story!
