DIY | Handmade Christmas Trees

Come November and Starbucks holiday cups are being filled, department stores are being dressed in red and green, and “I’m dreaming of a white Christmas” is sneaking into our heads. For some, like myself, it’s difficult to ignore, so with a few days before Thanksgiving day I was elated to hear that my sweet Lady Friend Kelsy was just as anxious to start spreading some holiday cheer! A DIY holiday craft date was in store!

You may be familiar with the guilty pleasure of good old Pinterest and perhaps you even pinned this cute idea? Well, these Handmade Christmas Trees certainly caught our eyes as a DIY that would allow plenty of time for chatting and laughing while in action. We made a trip to Michaels to gather materials to make our Handmade Christmas Trees our very own. At a minimum you will want the first 3 items from the following supplies list to complete your very own Handmade Christmas Tree. There are about 100+ different ways to make your tree unique, so pick materials that match your style and have fun!

Supplies:

  1. Styrofoam cone (or cardboard as instructed in the above link)
  2. Hot glue gun & sticks
  3. Material covering of choice (we used jute, yarn, & popsicle sticks)
  4. Spray paint, glitter, etc. to jazz things up (optional)

With holiday music playing and glue guns and lattes in hand, we.were.ready! Simple afternoons filled with lady time, crafting, and coffee are THE best. And to top it off, these cuties were pretty easy to make! Both Kelsy and I are itching to create a few mores trees to add to our collection :)

Whether it’s a DIY project, singing your favorite holiday song, or spending time with your loved ones, I hope you take time to enjoy what’s important to you and partake in spreading some holiday cheer!

Thank you Lady K for documenting our fun day with your camera! These images allow me to actually see (what I’ve always felt in my heart) just how happy a bit of crafting makes me. I adore you and the time we spend together! Cheers to many more craft dates! xo, Anna
